Greenpointers Mission

Writer: Mark Kraus
Mark is a New Yorker since 2002. He loves food, art, sporting events, and the general weirdness he finds in Greenpoint and beyond. A musician and writer, he currently works as a creative director for a large and powerful media company. Despite this, he finds the time to keyboard words into the Greenpointers blog. You may find him walking a disfunctional beagle on Franklin st. or counting on his hand the hours of sleep he’ll get if he stays out for one more round.

Just another native – us natives go by “Power ‘Pointer” – self-proclaimed arbiter of good taste, chronicling the curious, the extraordinary and the pedestrian experience of living in this neighborhood.
Writer: Peter Tiso
Peter moved to Greenpoint in February 2009 and commutes daily to Flushing, where he works as a cartographer for the Parks Department. After surviving the return trip, he can be found poking around the neighborhood, working it at the YMCA, and enjoying the view from his stoop on Leonard Street. Despite a tenuous understanding of the basic rules, he propelled his team to a 2010 championship win in the WORD Bookstore basketball league with a record-setting season total of two points.

Greenpointers was founded by Justine Carroll, a Greenpoint Native, in 2007. Her hard work and dedication to the neighborhood built the strong foundation and following for this awesome blog. In September 2011, Greenpointers was purchased by Jennifer Galatioto.
